This three hour gunbattle was between Mexican authorities and a drug cartel in Nogales, Mexico, across the border from Nogales, Arizona. There were 400 local, state and federal police officers and soldiers trying to arrest drug cartel members and over 14,000 rounds of ammunition fired during the battle. Three suspected drug cartel members and one state police officer killed in the firefight. Numerous machine guns, rifles and gold plated handguns, landmines and hand grenades captured in the battle.
