Livermore police arrested a man suspected of fatally stabbing a man during a road rage incident Wednesday afternoon, police officials said.Hospital staff alerted police of a possible stab wound victim who arrived at Valley Memorial Hospital at around 1:40 p.m. Shortly after, police received reports of a road rage incident on Old First Street, police said.
Police determined that the victim, a man in his late 40s, was involved in the road rage incident.The victim was transported to Eden Hospital in Castro Valley and police were informed that he had succumbed to his injuries at around 5:45 p.m., police said.The suspect, Cort Holbrook, 41, was discovered on Old First Street with what appeared to be abrasions on his face, police said.
Officers also found the suspected weapon at the scene of the road rage incident.Holbrook, a Livermore resident, was booked into Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of homicide, police said. Police said the incident does not appear to be gang related.The men were driving a 2002 gold Chevrolet Cavalier and a 2003 gray Chevy Silverado Pickup, police said.
