* Carmon Isbell was arrested after allegedly tried to light her Santa Rosa motel room on fire

A woman was arrested Monday night after she allegedly tried to light her Santa Rosa motel room on fire, police said.The arson attempt was reported at 11:30 p.m. at a Motel 6 at 3145 Cleveland Ave., Sgt. Michael Clark said.The woman ran from the scene with officers in pursuit, Clark said.During the chase, the woman allegedly stopped, faced the officers and sprayed an aerosol can at them while trying to ignite its contents with a lighter, Clark said.

The lighter didn’t work, and the woman, identified as 29-year-old Carmon Isbell, dropped the spray can and was taken into custody, Clark said. Isbell, a Santa Rosa resident, was booked into Sonoma County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, attempted arson and resisting arrest, Clark said.Police later learned that Isbell had allegedly also tried to set the motel office on fire by igniting the contents of the spray can, Clark said.
