A man is shot and killed after a short pursuit that ended with him stopping and rushing police with what appeared to be a weapon. The incident took place around 6 a.m. Tuesday after the unidentified man stole a Red Bull from a convenience store. The clerk called the police who spotted the mans truck a short distance from the store. That’s when the man hit the gas with police giving chase. After a short pursuit the driver finally pulled over in a Wal Mart parking lot and from the dash cam video can be seen putting the truck in park, then getting out with his hands outward in a “shooters stance.” Several shots are fired toward the man before he collapses to the ground after being shot. He died at the scene. Police later learned the man was holding an ice scraper. The two officers involved have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation. Police don’t believe the man is from the Perry area and are withholding his name pending notification of next-of-kin. WARNING GRAPHIC AND DISTURBING VIDEO.
