A woman who was fatally stabbed at the hands of her boyfriend in San Jose on Thursday has been identified by police as Melanie Ashley Dunn.Officers arrested David Jerome Shackelford, 26, of San Leandro, in connection with Dunn’s death.Officers responded to a disturbance call at about 5:20 a.m. Thursday at a home in the 1100 block of Terilyn Avenue near U.S. Highway 101 and found Dunn suffering from stab wounds.Shackelford initially fled on foot, but officers tracked him down in the area of Story Road and Highway 101 and took him into custody without incident.Dunn was taken to San Jose Regional Medical Center where she died from her injuries.
