* Darren Lee Betz Fairfield man arrested for alleged drug charges

Solano County narcotics officers arrested a Fairfield man Tuesday on suspicion of selling illegal drugs. Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Faulkner said detectives seized drugs with a street value of approximately $95,000 from the residence of Darren Lee Betz, 44, of Fairfield.Betz was riding in a vehicle on Interstate Highway 80 near the American Canyon off-ramp Tuesday when detectives contacted him with a warrant to search his residence, Faulkner said.Narcotics detectives searched Betz and found $4,000 believed to be drug sale money, Faulkner said.
At Betz’s residence in the 2500 block of Gulf Street, detectives seized 2.3 pounds of methamphetamine, 13 marijuana plants, 12 Ecstasy tablets, 46 Oxycontin tablets, 20 hydrocodone tablets and 32 methadone tablets, Faulkner said.Detectives also seized a .45 caliber handgun, a silencer, body armor, two digital scales and a pill press, Faulkner said.Betz was booked in the Solano County Jail on drug, weapons and possession of stolen property charges, Faulkner said.The arrest followed a six-month investigation by the Solano County Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Solano County Multi-Jurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Team.
