Authorities today are continuing to search for a 4-year-old boy who was abducted from Stanislaus County on Tuesday.Juliani Cardenas, of Patterson, was taken by 27-year-old Jose Esteban Rodriguez, and the pair could be anywhere in California, Stanislaus County Chief Tori Hughes said.The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department issued an Amber Alert on Tuesday and then notified San Jose police that evening that Cardenas and Rodriguez could be headed to their city, San Jose police Officer Jose Garcia said.”We’re on the lookout,” Garcia said. “Our department is primarily utilizing officers on the street and even some that are undercover.”The pair is believed to be in a silver Toyota Corolla with oversize aluminum wheels and California license plate No. 6HBW445.Rodriguez is the ex-boyfriend of Juliani’s mother and is not the boy’s biological father, Hughes said. He has an extensive criminal record, including a conviction for manslaughter, and should be considered dangerous.Rodriguez is described as a Hispanic man, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white and black shirt, checkered shorts, and a beanie.Juliani is described as a Hispanic boy, 3 feet 6 inches tall and 40 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing dark pants and a light blue shirt.Anyone with information about the pair is asked to call the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department at (209)380-6015.
