Two men are dead this evening in what is believed to be a murder-suicide at a Peet’s Coffee in a San Jose shopping center, a police spokesman said. Police responded to reports of a shooting at a Peet’s Coffee in the El Paseo De Saratoga Shopping Center near the 1300 block of El Paseo De Saratoga at about 9:20 p.m., police spokesman Jose Garcia said. Arriving officers found two men in their 40s who were dead of gunshot wounds, Garcia said. Witnesses said they one man allegedly shoot the other at the Peet’s Coffee. Then he ran a short distance away and killed himself, Garcia said. The medical examiner’s office had not arrived as of 10:50 p.m., Garcia said, so police did not have any additional details of the victims.
