Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run early this morning that has left a 15-year-old Campbell girl with life threatening injuries.The girl was walking with her boyfriend at the intersection of Camden and Bascom avenues at about 1:10 a.m. when she was struck in the crosswalk by a vehicle, police Sgt. Ronnie Lopez said. Police are searching for a silver or gray Japanese-make vehicle that was last seen traveling westbound on Camden Avenue.A preliminary investigation indicates that the girl was walking south on the west side of Bascom Avenue and was crossing Camden Avenue when she was struck, Lopez said. Police are still uncertain if the girl had the right of way.The girl, whose identity is being withheld, was transported to a local hospital with major injuries that are life threatening, Lopez said. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to contact San Jose police at (408) 409-5339.
