A 21-year-old man was fatally shot in San Francisco’s Western Addition neighborhood on Friday evening, a police spokesman said today.The city’s ShotSpotter system was activated by gunfire at around 7:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Ellis and Steiner streets, San Francisco police Lt. Troy Dangerfield said.Officers went to the scene and did not find anyone there, but shortly afterward a victim showed up with multiple gunshot wounds at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center on Geary Boulevard, Dangerfield said.The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital at 9:20 p.m., he said.Investigators found shell casings at the scene of the shooting, but no arrests have been made and no suspect information was immediately available, Dangerfield said.Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call (415) 575-4444.
