* Rogelio Augustine Valdez Arrested in Soledad for Allegedly Physically Abusing Girlfriend and Parole Violation

Deputies arrested a parolee suspected of physically assaulting his girlfriend early Saturday morning in unincorporated Monterey County near Soledad, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office reported. At around 5:30 a.m., deputies responded to a domestic dispute at a residence at 32097 McCoy Road, near U.S. Highway 101. When authorities arrived on scene and approached the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Rogelio Augustine Valdez, he was publicly intoxicated, the sheriff’s office reported. After further investigation, deputies determined that Valdez had physically abused his girlfriend and was on parole. Valdez was booked into Monterey County Jail for domestic violence and parole violations.
