A 15-year-old girl was reported missing from Santa Cruz today after she got separated from her family during New Year’s Eve celebrations, police said. Priscilla Maldonado was in town with her family for the holiday and was near the city’s Town Clock, located at North Pacific Avenue and Water Street, according to police. When fireworks went off at midnight, the family dog ran away, and Priscilla chased after it, running east on Water Street, police said. Priscilla and her family are from the Los Banos area and she is not familiar with Santa Cruz. She has not been seen or heard from since midnight, according to police. Officers found the dogaround 5 a.m. this morning on a beach area of the city, but Priscilla was not with it. The dog is a white and gray terrier that was wearing a red sweater, police said. Priscilla is 5 feet tall, weighs 100 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a silver shirt, and black jeans, according to police.
