* Homeowner Shoots Man Allegedly Burglarizing His Home
Published by Junior Staff Writer on December 31, 2010
A homeowner shot a man suspected of burglarizing his home in San Jose early this morning, a police spokesman said. The shooting was reported at 4:18 a.m. at a home in the 1700 block of Patio Drive, San Jose police Officer Jose Garcia said. Officers responded and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso in the backyard of the resident’s home, Garcia said. The man was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are potentially life-threatening, he said. “It appears the homeowner shot the suspected burglar, although we’ve yet to obtain a statement from the gunshot uncooperative victim to determine exactly what occurred,” Garcia said. He said the man who owns the home was being interviewed about the shooting by investigators this morning and has not been arrested.
