* Shooting in Oakland Leaves One Dead, Another Wounded

Police in Oakland are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another wounded late Saturday night. Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 5900 block of E. 17th Street just before 11 p.m., police said. Arriving officers found one victim suffering gunshot wounds, police said. Medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Police later received a report of a second gunshot victim outside the city. That individual was taken to a hospital and was reportedly in stable condition this morning, police said. Investigators are searching for two male suspects in connection with the homicide. No arrests had been made as of 2:30 a.m.
