* Oakland shooting near Lake Merritt

Police are investigating a shooting that took place late Wednesday night near Lake Merritt in Oakland that injured the victim of a robbery.Shots rang out near the intersection of 15th and Madison streets at about 11 p.m., police said.The victim sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to a nearby hospital. Police said the victim is in stable condition.Police have one suspect in custody but the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
