Walnut Creek police arrested four suspects Sunday in connection with a robbery at a Burberry store in a west Walnut Creek shopping center, police reported. The crime took place around 5:20 p.m. Sunday, when three men walked into the Burberry store at 1266 Broadway Plaza and stole approximately $9,000 worth of handbags and wallets, Walnut Creek police Lt. Tim Barrett said in a report. The suspects did not use any weapons during the robbery, but as they fled the store one of the men shoved a salesperson, Barrett said. The employee was shaken up by the incident, but was not hurt. The suspects ran to a waiting white 1988 Pontiac four-door vehicle that was driven by a fourth suspect, a woman, Barrett said. The suspects drove on North Broadway toward Interstate Highway 680, Barrett said. Police had been contacted minutes after the robbery occurred and intercepted the suspect vehicle on North Broadway near Parkside Drive, Barrett said. Officers stopped the vehicle without incident, he said. After a preliminary investigation, police arrested the suspects, identified as Jonathan Garcia, 25; Miguel Garcia, 27; Miguel Godinez, 29; and Deanna Savala, 21, Barrett said. All four are Sacramento residents, he said. Savala and the younger Garcia both have documented gang affiliations, Barrett said. The suspects were arrested on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy, possession of stolen property and violation of probation, Barrett said. They were taken to the Contra Costa County jail, where they await formal charges. All of the stolen property was recovered and returned to the Burberry store, Barrett said. Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to contact the Walnut Creek Police Department at (925) 943-5844.
