A $100 transaction landed a Petaluma man in Sonoma County Jail on $10,000 bail after he was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of embezzlement, police said. Henderson Marine Supply employee Hernesto Quinonez, 29, allegedly sold more than $600 worth of merchandise to a customer for just $100, and then deposited the $100 into his personal bank account, according to police. Police determined that Quinonez had allegedly delivered the merchandise to a client and “kept the proceeds for personal gain.” When investigators questioned Quinonez, he confessed to the embezzlement and was arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail, police said. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Petaluma police Officer Aaron Lindh at (707) 778-4372.
