Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying an intruder who broke into a North Berkeley home early on Saturday and sexually assaulted a minor.The assailant, who was described as a clean-shaven Hispanic man between 20 and 30 years old, around 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 190 pounds, assaulted the young victim in a home on Evelyn Street at around 6:10 a.m., according to the Berkeley Police Department.The suspect entered the victim’s home through an unlocked bedroom window.The victim told police the intruder had a “very pronounced nose” and he spoke with a heavy accent. His hair was 1 to 2 inches long and he was wearing blue jeans, a light colored shirt, and a black zip-up hoodie. Police also said the suspect may have injuries on his hands or fingers.Berkeley police are urging the community to help investigators identify the suspect.
