A Solano County jail inmate was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of killing a Vallejo man in June, a sheriff’s lieutenant said. Solano County sheriff’s deputies arrested Damario Keith Hill, 25, at the jail in Fairfield, where he has been held since July 22 for a parole violation, sheriff’s Lt. Gary Faulkner said. Hill is suspected of fatally shooting Ray Evans, 26, of Vallejo on June 27 in the 400 block of Benicia Road in an unincorporated area of Vallejo, Faulkner said. Evans was one of two people shot at about 1:10 a.m. that day, Faulkner said. He died at the scene. Steven Hawkins, a 15-year-old Vallejo resident, was treated and released from Kaiser Permanente Vallejo Medical Center, Faulkner said. The Solano County coroner’s office said Evans was shot in the torso multiple times and died at 2:04 a.m. June 27.
