The Union City Police Department is requesting the public’s help in a search for information that would uncover the circumstances behind an apparent shooting that wounded one person.Police received a 911 call at about 6:25 p.m. Tuesday regarding gunshots heard in the area of Whipple Road and Central Avenue in Union City, police said.Responding officers searched the area for victims or witnesses,but did not find anyone connected with a potential shooting, police said.However, a short time later a staff member from the St. Rose Hospital emergency room called police to notify them that a person had come to the hospital with a gunshot wound, police said.Police said the victim’s injuries do not appear to be life threatening. The victim’s name is not being released at this time.The investigation into the possible injury shooting is ongoing.
