The Solano County coroner’s office today identified a Fairfield couple killed in a double shooting early Saturday as 35-year-old Maria Terronez and 31-year-old Jose Velarde-Lopez.Fairfield police have obtained an arrest warrant for the suspected shooter, Ricardo Martinez Deleon, 50, of Fairfield, who they say is Terronez’s ex-boyfriend.He is believed to be traveling in a white 1999 Dodge van with a blue stripe on the side and a possible license plate of 8H03092, Lt. Greg Hurlbut said.Deleon, who also goes by Ricardo Martinez, is Hispanic, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 155 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, Hurlbut said. The incident began at about 6:15 p.m. Friday when police were called to a disturbance at an apartment complex on Crowley Lane.Officers arrived and spoke to a crowd of people who said Deleon had showed up and argued with Terronez, his ex-girlfriend, in the parking lot. Her family had surrounded Deleon and convinced him to leave, police said. Deleon fled on foot before officers arrived, but his car was found and towed off the property a short time later, police said.Terronez had sought a restraining order against Deleon but it had not been served, according to police. Then, at about around 1:15 a.m. Saturday, police received several reports of a shooting at the complex and arrived to find a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both taken to a hospital and later died. Investigators learned that Deleon had apparently come back to the complex and waited for Terronez and Velarde-Lopez to return home, then allegedly shot them, according to police. Solano County coroner’s office deputy Adrian Garcia said the victims were each shot once in the head and were pronounced dead at about 2 a.m. Please call the Fugitive Watch hot line at 1-800-9-CAUGHT (1-800-922-8448) or text us at 408-355-0999 or CLICK HERE to send a confidential email tip, if you know his whereabouts or have any information that can help solve this crime.
