* Oakland police shot at on Sycamore and West streets one person arrested

A man was arrested for allegedly shooting at two Oakland police officers Monday night, Deputy Chief Jeffrey Israel said today.The officers were near the intersection of Sycamore and West streets at about 7:30 p.m. Monday to make a probation stop on a man, Israel said.While the officers were talking to the man, two other people walked up to the officers, and one of them drew a gun for an unknown reason and opened fire on them, he said.The officers weren’t hurt, but the suspect fled, Israel said. The officers didn’t shoot at the suspect, he said.Police set up a perimeter in the area and arrested the suspect about 90 minutes later, according to Israel. He said police aren’t yet releasing the suspect’s name because he’s still talking to investigators.
