Authorities are searching for a suspect after three people were injured in a hit-and-run accident on westbound Interstate Highway 80 in Vallejo Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol. A Ford Expedition traveling westbound on I-80 at about 4:20 p.m. was driving recklessly and traveled into the right shoulder, where it struck a GMC pickup, according to witness accounts given to the CHP. Jorge Barrios, one of the passengers from the GMC, was standing outside the vehicle when it was struck by the Ford. He sustained moderate injuries, the CHP said. Barrios, 21, of San Pablo, and two other victims were injured from the collision. Jose Jaime Iniquez, 35, of Richmond and Arinco Ochoa Castillo, 29, of San Pablo, both suffered moderate injuries, according to the CHP. It is not known whether the men were taken to a hospital for treatment. After the collision, the driver of the Ford fled on foot. Despite search efforts by the CHP, which included a helicopter and K-9 units, authorities were unable to locate the suspect. Witnesses described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his 20s with a shaved head. Anyone with information related to this case is asked to contact the Solano area CHP office at (707) 428-2100.
