* Raymond Charles Lewis arrested for alleged in Palo Alto in front of Pizza My Heart at 220 University Ave

A San Francisco man was arrested on suspicion of robbing a woman of her car at gunpoint in downtown Palo Alto on Sunday, police said today.The carjacking occurred at about 4:05 p.m. in front of Pizza My Heart at 220 University Ave., according to police. The victim told officers she was sitting in her car waiting for her husband when her passenger door opened and a man pointed a gun at her and told her to get out of the car, police said.The victim left the car, and the man got into the driver’s seat and drove away as witnesses ran after him on foot. They lost sight of the car when it turned south on Ramona Street, police said.After police broadcasted the incident to nearby agencies, the car was located in the Peninsula Avenue and San Mateo Drive area of San Mateo.San Mateo police chased after the suspect, and after momentarily losing sight of him, they found the stolen car in the area of Bays Water Avenue and Park Street. They saw the suspect walking away from the car, police said.Officers arrested the man, identified as Raymond Charles Lewis, 33, and booked him into Santa Clara County jail on a carjacking charge.It appeared Lewis was intoxicated and was trying to go back to San Francisco after visiting a bar in downtown Palo Alto, police officials said.The weapon Lewis used was not found.
