Police arrested a woman Friday evening on suspicion of driving drunkenly and striking a pedestrian on a Vacaville street, leaving the pedestrian unconscious and with serious injuries, police said. Susan Silva-Lopez, 46, of Vacaville, allegedly struck a 21-year-old Fairfield woman while driving under the influence of alcohol near the 1500 block of Alamo Drive, according to Vacaville police. Police responded to the emergency call at about 9:50 p.m. Friday, and arriving officers found the victim lying in the street, unconscious and having difficulty breathing. The victim suffered major head trauma, and was air lifted to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. Westbound lanes of Alamo Drive near the incident were closed for nearly four hours while officers investigated the scene, police said. Silva-Lopez was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail for driving under the influence of alcohol above the legal limit and causing injury.
