Walnut Creek police arrested a Hercules man early this morning on suspicion of fighting with a nightclub security employee when they were responding to another fight that had just taken place at the same club, Walnut Creek police said. Khang Duong, 24, was found allegedly fighting with security staff at the Shiro Lounge at 1523 Giammona Drive shortly before 2 a.m., police said. Police were responding to a call about a brawl in front of Shiro Lounge and found Duong allegedly fighting with the security guard when they arrived, police said. Duong’s case and the larger brawl do not seem to be connected, they said. The fight to which police were responding reportedly involved as many as 10 people and broke out in front of the club around 1:40 a.m., police said. All the involved parties had fled when officers arrived, leaving just one a victim suffering from head injuries at the scene, police said. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and several witnesses who had suffered minor injuries were interviewed about the fight, police said. Witnesses identified four or five suspects that had fled the scene in a black four-door Honda as the people who had beaten the victim that was sent to the hospital, police said. Those suspects are describes only as black men in their mid 20s, according to police. Officers were unable to locate the suspects or the Honda on Saturday morning. The fight was recorded on video with an iPhone, police said, and the video shows suspects punching and kicking the victim while he was on the ground. The video does not clearly depict what led to the scuffle, police said. Police were not able to immediately arrive at the scene of the Shiro Lounge incident – located across the street from the police department – because all available officers were responding to another bar fight at Vice Ultra Lounge at 1251 Arroyo Way that involved more than 30 people, police said.
