Two Concord police patrol cars collided with each other and then struck a third vehicle Friday afternoon, briefly hospitalizing two officers and the driver of the other vehicle, a police sergeant said today. The crash was reported at about 3:25 p.m. at the intersection of Salvio and Galindo streets, Concord police Sgt. Jeff Krieger said. The patrol cars, both with their emergency lights and sirens on, were responding to a report of a fight at nearby Mt. Diablo High School. One of the cars was traveling east on Salvio Street while the other was traveling north on Galindo Street when they collided, Krieger said. One of the patrol cars broadsided the other, spinning it around and causing a collision with the third vehicle, which sustained minor damage,
he said. The officers driving each patrol car were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries and were released later Friday, Krieger said. The driver of the third vehicle was also taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure, he said.
