* Jonas Peacock is in custody for alleged killing of Ashley Manigault

The hunt for a man suspected of fatally shooting a young woman in Vallejo Wednesday night and fleeing the scene with his 4-year-old daughter was called off Thursday evening after the man turned himself in, police said. Jonas Peacock, 28, was arrested on a warrant in connection with the homicide after he turned himself in at the Vallejo Police Department at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday night, officers found 22-year-old Ashley Manigault dead of a gunshot wound to the head in a home in the first block of Ninth Street, police said. Occupants of the home were questioned and police identified Peacock as a suspect, Lt. Ken Weaver said Thursday.Peacock fled the scene with his daughter, Nyary Peacock, who was located by police Thursday unharmed and is staying with family members in Vallejo, police said.
