A man was injured in a shooting at a home just outside of Salinas on Saturday night, Monterey County sheriff’s investigators said.Deputies responded to 428 Boronda Road in unincorporated Monterey County northwest of Salinas just after 11 p.m. Saturday.The victim, identified as Gabriel Padilla, was apparently drinking in the backyard with his family when an unknown number of suspects entered through the home’s side gate and fired one or two shots at Padilla, according to the sheriff’s office.Padilla was hit in the right elbow with a small-caliber bullet, deputies said. He was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.The suspects, described only as Hispanic men in their 20s wearing all black clothing, did not say anything before opening fire, investigators said. They were last seen leaving in a car, the office reported.No arrests have been made in the case.
