Three have been arrested on suspicion of stealing goods from a K-Mart in Scotts Valley this afternoon, according to police. Steven Northcutt, 29, allegedly fled in a silver Nissan away from a K-Mart parking lot on Mount Hermon Road after reports of a theft at 4:30 p.m., Scotts Valley police said. A responding officer drove after Northcutt, from San Jose, and found the Nissan abandoned in the middle of Ryder Road near Lockhart Gulch Road, police said. Northcutt was found with two others in the nearby woods and arrested, police said. He allegedly stole a “Her Pleasure Personal Massager,” sold by Trojan, and several T-shirts. Amber Yarnell, 19, identified as Northcutt’s girlfriend, was arrested on suspicion of stealing several articles of Playboy clothing. Police said she had a concealed knife at the time of her arrest. David Becerra, 22, from San Mateo County, was arrested on suspicion of aiding Northcutt and Yarnell. He apparently stood in the parking lot as a lookout while the other two allegedly stole goods. Police said during his booking, Becerra turned over several shaved keys, which are commonly used to steal cars. All three were found under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of their arrest. Among many charges, Northcutt was arrested for felony evading and commercial burglary. He was a parolee at the time of his arrest. Yarnell faces charges of possession of a concealed weapon, conspiracy, and probation violation. Becerra faces charges of probation violation and being under the influence of narcotics. All three suspects were booked at the Santa Cruz County Jail.
