Masked gunmen broke into a Mountain View residence Tuesday morning and tied up the home’s two occupants before proceeding to burglarize the residence, police said. At about 9:15 a.m., emergency dispatchers received reports of a home invasion in the 1300 block of Phyllis Avenue. Responding officers found the home’s occupants –a 72-year-old male and his female caregiver — had been bound and the attackers had struck the man in the face, police said. The man was transported to a nearby hospital and treated for those non-life threatening injuries, according to police. Detectives were still working Tuesday afternoon to determine what, if anything, was stolen from the home. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the department at (650) 903-6344 with the option of remaining anonymous.
