A Santa Rosa man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence after a standoff with police in which a SWAT team eventually convinced him to surrender, police said. Police said the man, Jose Rolando Arbego, 45, refused to cooperate with officers who were dispatched to his home in the 2400 block of Summer Creek Drive. Officers were responding to a 911 call from the home. They learned from Arbego’s 15-year-old son that his father had been threatening to kill himself, police said.Police created a perimeter and evacuated neighbors while the SWAT hostage negotiation team repeatedly attempted to establish contact with Arbego.Once Arbego surrendered, investigators learned that he had been involved in a domestic dispute with the mother of his children early Monday and had allegedly assaulted her, police said. Arbego was booked into Sonoma County Jail on a domestic battery charge.
