* John Robert Alexander arrested for various robberies in the Bay Area

San Jose: On 9/7/10, 9:00 p.m., John Robert Alexander, 56, was arrested in Mono County by the Mono County Sheriff’s Office as a result of an All Points Bullentin (APB).

On 9/1/10, the San Jose Police Department issued a press release asking the public’s assistance in identifying Alexander, who was pictured in bank surveillance images during various robberies . As a result, the San Jose Police Department received information from the public who recognized and identified Alexander.

Investigators determined Alexander was transient and living out of his vehicle. A warrant for Alexander’s arrest was issued and an APB was sent out to all regional law enforcement agencies. Mono County sheriff’s deputies on patrol located Alexander’s pick-up truck based on the APB and arrested Alexander.

Alexander was booked into and held at the Mono County Jail until he was tranferred to the Santa Clara County Jail on 9/9/10. Alexander remains in custody at the Santa Clara County Jail on robbery charges, with a $500,000.00 bail amount.
