A Concord woman was injured early this morning when her husband allegedly stabbed her during an argument, a Concord police lieutenant said. Police received a report of a stabbing at a home in the 1800 block of Johnson Drive at 1:30 a.m. Officers responded and learned the couple had been arguing throughout the evening, police Lt. Garrett Voerge said. The victim had been using a knife to prepare food when her husband attacked her, he said. “He grabbed the knife from her and attempted to stab her in the face,” Voerge said. She suffered a serious cut to one of her hands, which Voerge said was a defensive wound. Her husband was gone by the time officers arrived, but police later located and arrested him. Voerge identified him as 24-year-old Carlos Portillo. Portillo has been booked into jail on an attempted murder charge.
