The San Jose Police Department is still searching for a man who went missing in late April and has not been heard from since. Authorities are urging the public to come forward with information to assist in the investigation. San Jose resident Virdell Green, Jr., 46, has not been heard from since April 30, when he left a voicemail message for his girlfriend at 5:13  p.m. He was reported missing by his employer on May 5 after missing work in Santa Cruz on May 3, police said in a statement. Green’s car, a black 2002 Jeep Liberty sports utility vehicle, was found on April 30 at his ex-girlfriend’s home in San Jose around 8 p.m., police said. Green and his ex-girlfriend remain in contact because they have a child together, police said. Green’s ex-girlfriend is not suspected of being connected to his disappearance, San Jose police Sgt. Ronnie Lopez confirmed. Police found Green’s keys and other personal roperty at his ex-girlfriend’s house along with the car. Green was not seen parking the car there by any witnesses, police said, and it is still unknown who actually parked the car there. Green also failed to show up for performance engagements and rehearsals after April 30 with a local musical group he belongs to, police said. Green has not contacted any of his friends, family, or coworkers since his disappearance four months ago. They all said it is very out of  character for him to be out of touch and to not alert his employer and band mates about planned absences, police said. Green is described as an African-American man who is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 175 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes, and is known to wear prescription glasses and earrings, though it is unknown if his ears are pierced, police said.
