A San Jose man charged with killing his fiancee’s friend last weekend allegedly confessed to the crime, according to police. Gannon Crediford, 25, is accused of killing 28-year-old Jasmine Costa, a friend of his fiancee, on Sunday night at his home on Morris Court.     A resident called police at 9:06 p.m. and said he heard two muffled “pops” in rapid succession followed by one very loud, distinctive
sound that he recognized as a gunshot coming from a home across the street, according to a statement by police Detective William Hoyt. The resident told police he then saw a man coming out of the home with a woman’s limp body in his arms. He said the man placed the body on the front lawn of the home and then went back inside to change to a  darker-colored shirt. Moments later, the man left the home and fled on foot, the neighbor said.  When officers found Crediford about two blocks away, he allegedly told them he had shot a woman at his home, according to Hoyt’s statement. Police found Costa in the front yard of the home with a severe
head wound. She was pronounced dead at 9:18 p.m. Witnesses said that prior to the shooting, Crediford and his fiancee had been arguing loudly, and one witness reported overhearing Crediford accuse his fiancee of adultery, according to Hoyt’s statement.     Crediford will appear in superior court Thursday afternoon to enter a plea on a murder charge, district attorney spokeswoman Amy Cornell said.
