* Pittsburg elementary school teacher arrested on suspicion of possession of child pornography



A 26-year-old Antioch man who teaches at a Pittsburg elementary school was arrested Wednesday morning on suspicion of possession of child pornography, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office. Alex Bursch, a teacher at Los Medanos Elementary School, was arrested after sheriff’s investigators served a search warrant at about 8 a.m. Wednesday at his home in the 5000 block of Wagon Wheel Way. Investigators confiscated several computers and storage devices containing thousands of images of child pornography, according to the sheriff’s office. Bursch is also a coach and lifeguard for the Pleasant Hill Dolfins, a local swim team. He was arrested at the elementary school in Pittsburg later Wednesday morning without incident, according to the

sheriff’s office. Bursch was booked into county jail in Martinez. His bail was set at $60,000.
