Two 19-year-old men were arrested for allegedly beating up a man during a road rage incident in San Anselmo Thursday evening, according to police. At about 5:40 p.m. Thursday, police responded to Cordone Drive on a report of three men who were assaulting another man. Arriving officers found a 53-year-old man lying on the sidewalk. The man, a San Anselmo resident, was holding the left side of his chest and ribs, according to police. Two 19-year-old men, Christopher Wiegers and Cole Clemons, were seen running from the area and were apprehended by officers. They both admitted to being involved in the altercation, police said. A third suspect, Spencer Pieri, 19, was later contacted at his home, and he also admitted to being involved in the incident. Pieri said he was driving his car with Wiegers and Clemens as passengers, and the men were involved in a road rage incident while traveling west on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, according to police. Pieri followed the 53-year-old man’s vehicle onto Cordone Drive, and all four people got out of the vehicles and began arguing. The argument turned physical, and Pieri threw a basketball into the face of the victim,
who threw a punch at him. Pieri and Wiegers then began punching and kicking the victim, police said. The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene and released after refusing further medical attention. Pieri and Wiegers were arrested on suspicion of battery with serious bodily injury, and were booked into Marin County Jail. Clemons was released without charges, according to police.
