* Jimon Clark 13 years old gunned down in Oakland on Bancroft Avenue

A 13-year-old boy who was killed in a shooting in Oakland Wednesday night was scheduled to start his freshman year at Skyline High School next week, Oakland Unified School District spokesman Troy Flint said today.Jimon Clark, who was going to turn 14 next month, was killed in a shooting reported at 9:23 p.m. in the 6100 block of Bancroft Avenue, police said.Police arrived to find Jimon suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds, Oakland police spokesman Officer Jeff Thomason said.Paramedics tried to revive the boy but he was pronounced dead at the scene.Investigators believe Jimon was walking with another teen when a gunman approached them and began firing, Thomason said.Jimon had graduated from Frick Middle School earlier this year and was scheduled to start classes at Skyline High School on Monday, according to Flint.School officials plan on recognizing Jimon once school starts next week, but are waiting to talk to his family before making any formal plans, Flint said.”The family is still grieving right now,” he said.No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and no suspect information was immediately available this morning, Thomason said.
