On 8/10/10, approximately 12:00 p.m., several suspects robbed the Check ‘n Go Payday Loans business at 461 Blossom Hill Road at gunpoint. The employees, a 27-year-old female and a 23-year-old male, were held at gunpoint while suspects removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the business. During the robbery, one suspect discharged his firearm, striking the 23 year old clerk. The suspects fled in their vehicle and were observed by patrol sergeants Rick Foster and Dale Harris in the area of SR-87 near Curtner Avenue.
Sgt. Foster and Sgt. Harris followed the suspects several miles and initiated a car stop in the area of Jackson Avenue and Interstate 680. All of the suspects exited the car and fled on foot in different directions. Sergeants Foster and Harris were able to coordinate the safe apprehension of all five suspects. Robbery Detectives responded to the scene and coordinated the investigation with patrol personnel. The 23-years-old victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was admitted with non life-threatening injuries. The suspects were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on robbery, attempted murder, and various other felony charges.
