Two men were arrested Friday in connection with a spree of robberies in El Cerrito and Richmond in the past two weeks, police said. The first in the series of robberies was reported at about 10:15 p.m. on Aug. 10 when two suspects robbed someone at gunpoint on Blake Street near the BART tracks before fleeing on foot, according to El Cerrito police. Two days later at about 7:05 p.m., another armed robbery occurred in the 11700 block of San Pablo Avenue. At about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, El Cerrito police again responded to a report of a robbery. This one occurred in the 2000 block of Key Boulevard, and the suspects fled in a vehicle. Then at about 2:20 p.m. Friday, Richmond police received a report of a similar robbery that had just occurred in their city. An El Cerrito police detective sergeant spotted the suspects and their vehicle shortly afterward. The suspects, Jevon Calvin Demery, 28, and Jermaine Marcus Hall, 26, were arrested for the string of robberies, police said. Demery and Hall, both Richmond residents, were taken to county jail in Martinez. Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call police Detective Cpl. Susan Garman at (510) 215-4446.
