A 16-year-old boy who was shot to death at a bus stop in Richmond’s Iron Triangle neighborhood Thursday morning has been identified as Akeem Rouse, according to the Contra Costa County coroner’s office.Police received a call shortly after 10 a.m. Thursday reporting gunshots at Curry Street and West Macdonald Avenue, Richmond police Sgt. Bisa French said.Officers arriving on scene found Rouse, a Richmond resident, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, French said. His mother showed up a short time later, but French couldn’t confirm whether Rouse was waiting for her or for the bus when he was shot. From what police have been able to gather so far, it appears that Rouse was at the bus stop when two people approached him and one started shooting at him, French said. They were last seen running east on Macdonald Avenue.Police found a gun two blocks away on First Street. The gun has been sent to the crime lab to be analyzed to see if it is the same gun that was used to kill Rouse. As of this morning, no suspects had been identified, French said.
