Mexican troops engage cartels gunmen in a two hour gun battle in Apatzingán, Michoacán. Approximately 25,000 people have been killed since 2006 when the Mexican government declared an all out war against the powerful drug cartels. Everyday Mexican Army, Navy and Marines are fighting cartel gunmen in firefights as terrible as what American forces are facing in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Mexican government leaders are telling the people of Mexico the war will not end soon but they can not surrender to the cartels. Sadly, there will be more casualties and it will be years before the cartels are destroyed and law and order is restored. Both the United Sates and Mexico are engaged in wars with enemies that are determined to destroy their countries.
