Fugitives Violent Crime

* Oakland Police Looking to Identify This Alleged Killer of Truck Driver

The Oakland Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in this sketch.  According to Detective Sgt. Perez, on June 24, 2010, at 1:05 PM, Oakland police officers responded to the 1700 block of Middle Harbor Road to investigate a vehicle collision.  However, upon their arrival they found 58-year-old Jie Tao Liu unresponsive and determined he had been the victim of apparent road rage.  The preliminary investigation revealed that both the victim and suspect were truck drivers, and they got into an argument apparently over a minor traffic collision.  The suspect then allegedly confronted the victim and then assaulted him, causing severe head trauma.  The suspect then returned to his truck and fled the scene. Ambulance personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to Highland Hospital for treatment, where he was pronounced dead. The subject is likely a fellow truck driver last seen driving a white freightliner truck with brown stripes.  Please call the Fugitive Watch hot line at 1-800-9-CAUGHT (1-800-922-8448) or text us at 408-355-0999 or CLICK HERE to send a confidential email tip, if you have any information that can help solve this crime.
