A Salinas man was arrested for possession of controlled substance paraphernalia and violating his probation after deputies were dispatched to check on the man’s car, which was parked on the shoulder of a road in Prunedale, according to the Monterey County sheriff’s office. When deputies arrived at the black two-door 1992 Nissan Sentra at Prunedale South Road and state Highway 156 at 10:10 a.m. on Saturday they found 37-year-old Lori Ann Burns of Salinas in the passenger seat and the suspect, 47-year-old Paul Allen Hill, about 40 yards away attempting to urinate, the sheriff’s office said. When Burns was found to be on probation, police conducted a search of the vehicle and found a glass pipe believed to be for smoking methamphetamines in the fuse box, the sheriff’s office said. Hill, who owned the Nissan, admitted that the pipe was his, police said. Burns was not arrested. No one was injured and no weapons were confiscated, police reported.
