A 15-year-old boy was stabbed near a west Santa Rosa park during a gang-related confrontation Wednesday evening, police said today. The boy, a Santa Rosa resident, was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, Sgt. Rainer Navarro said. Police received a call at 6:40 p.m. about a fight in the area of Peterson Lane Park in the 1700 block of Peterson Lane, Navarro said. Police stopped a car leaving the scene and determined that one of its three occupants had been stabbed, Navarro said. The victim and his two companions said several males had confronted them, shouted gang challenges and chased them into the street, Navarro said. One stabbed the teen victim, and the suspects then drove off, Navarro said.
