A registered sex offender has been arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography, Fairfield police said. Police received an anonymous tip that Edward Burl Berger, 44, was involved in child pornography, Sgt. David Walsh said. Police searched his Circle Drive home in Fairfield Thursday, seized several computers and located child pornography, Sgt. David Walsh said. Detectives obtained a warrant for possession of child pornography by a registered sex offender and returned to Berger’s home. Berger tried to commit suicide by cutting his wrist with a kitchen knife before police arrived, Walsh said. Berger was treated at the NorthBay Medical Center and arrested on the pornography charge. He was booked into the Solano County jail under $45,000 bail.
