A 20-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run and driving under the influence in Petaluma today after allegedly hitting two properties with her car early this morning, a police sergeant said. Shaylynne Nicole Watson allegedly evaded police for six hours after smashing her 1997 Honda into a parked cargo trailer, a house porch and finally a power pole, where the police found her car abandoned, Sgt. Ken Savano said. Reports of the accidents began coming in at about 1:20 a.m., police said. Watson allegedly struck the trailer in the area of Fair and Dana streets and collided with a house at the same intersection. Police found her sedan abandoned with its airbags deployed and moderately damaged at the intersection of English and Post streets.  No injuries were reported, but Watson’s car damaged the support beams to the house’s porch and stairs, Savano said. It also broke an axel on
the trailer. No damage was done to the power pole. Police said Watson initially claimed to not know where she was when officers called her cell phone number, which they had been able to track down. When she finally came into the station at 9:30 a.m., police
discovered her blood alcohol content was 0.07 percent, Savano said. Her estimated blood alcohol content when she crashed into the properties was more than 0.20 percent. Watson was arrested and released with a citation to appear in court. This is Watson’s first DUI arrest on record in California, Savano said.
