A New Zealand man pleaded guilty today to assaulting a 15-year-old girl with intent to commit rape while he was visiting Carmel in April, the Monterey County District Attorney said. Michael Brady, 41, a New Zealand national, was arrested for assaulting the girl on April 10, District Attorney Dean Flippo said in a statement. The victim was able to escape the attack and find the back door of the Carmel Police Department, he said. Brady faces a maximum sentence of six years in prison. He will be required to register as a sex offender, Flippo said.
