A 2-year-old boy was killed this morning when he was attacked by his family’s pit bulls, Concord police Lt. Jim Lardieri said. Police and animal control officers headed to a home in the 1700 block of Trail Creek Court at about 8:45 a.m. after receiving a report that a child had been attacked by dogs. Investigators determined that the boy had been home with two adult family members when he walked into the garage and was attacked by the dogs, Lardieri said. The boy was taken by ambulance to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Lardieri said. Police are working with the Contra Costa County Animal Services Department to investigate the case.
